Industrial waste water treatment

In addition to the usual chemical additives, waste water from industrial processes usually contains all kinds of contaminants, mineral or organic oils and fats, solvents and pathogens.

Here, it is crucial not only to neutralise the effects of unused chemicals, but also to bind contaminants, detoxify them, and remove them from the water.

The difficulty in this is that different coagulation agents and flocculants are also needed for the various ingredients. For this reason, this task can only be partly standardised. Specific preliminary tests are absolutely essential in determining the chemicals to be used in treatments and their actual use.

Ideally, this waste water can be recycled once contaminants have been removed. In this way, reductions can be made in purifying agents, fresh water, power and even waste water charges.
