The mains water quality is often not good enough for supplying hospitals with water. proaqua offers different systems for improving water, e.g.:
- Water softening systems
- Iron removal systems / manganese removal systems
- Systems for reducing nitrate and phosphate
- Demineralisation systems (ion exchangers or reverse osmosis)
- Chemical, catalytic and UV disinfection systems.
Regardless of what your untreated water is made up of, we will find a way to improve the quality of your water. This applies to all fields of application, e.g.:
- Boiler feed water
- Water for cleaning equipment and operation utensils
- Treatment of bath water.
Waste water from hospitals is often highly contaminated with medicines (antibiotics, cancer treatment drugs, hormone preparations, etc.) and other harmful substances (contrast agents, quick silver, heavy metals, solvents and radioactive substances, etc.).
These substances result from purification processes, but also from excretions from patients, from operating theatres, practical rooms, bathrooms and canteens.
In addition to conventional purification processes, more extensive treatment methods have to be used; e.g.:
- UV oxidation
- Chemical oxidation
- Catalytic oxidation.
Treatment to reduce or destroy the harmful ingredients usually only lasts a few minutes.
Cooling systems for radioactive liquid waste have proved reliable in treating radioactive substances which usually have a relatively short half-life. In the process, the contaminated water is treated (e.g. for flushing toilets), disinfected and stored until it is allowed to be discharged.
proaqua offers all of the technology needed for this, and would be pleased to advise you on the selection of the optimal process.
